The School & Facilities
The current Saint Mary School building was dedicated in 1929.
Within this historic building, which is full of character and tradition, three floors of classrooms and student spaces provide a comfortable place for learning and growth.
Our classroom spaces are large and student-centered, and the rooms and the halls are alive with displays of student work.
Technology is a focus for learning, with smart screens and tablets/laptops in every classroom and an Innovation Room that is a construction zone for learning – it has a 3D printer, a hydroponic garden tower, and regular updates and additions to integrate new technologies.
An exterior wall of our playground features a wonderfully happy mural by muralist Emily Balsley, which was a collaborative effort with Saint Mary School Art students! It was made possible through Art Infusion and brings joy to our downtown artscape.
Our playground is a big space for play and fresh air, with play equipment, a sandbox, hopscotch, and a map of the US.
Our gym is also our lunch and event area, and hosts basketball and volleyball games, concerts, and other events. We have plenty of bleachers for spectators and even a balcony!
The auditorium includes a beautiful, historic stage, plenty of seating for spectators and for school assemblies, and wonderful acoustics for our school musicals and performances.
Students go to our cozy library to check out books from our extensive collection or enjoy interactive storytime with our volunteers. Images of famous artists and cross-curricular themes inspire students. There are tables for small-group collaborative work.
