Msgr. Daniel Ganshert
Msgr. Daniel GanshertPastor of St. Mary Parish
My hometown is Gratiot, Wisconsin where I grew up with my mother and dad along with two sisters and one brother. I went to high school seminary in Milwaukee and Madison completing my studies at St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, in 1974. Along with other parish assignments I was fortunate to have served here at St. Mary’s parish from 1979 to 1982. It is a privilege to return here in 2020 as pastor. After 46 years of priesthood, I am very grateful to God for the gift of this life that I love as much today as all the days before. Having a front row seat to the joys, accomplishments, and challenges of countless people all these years who have invited me into their lives, families and hearts has allowed me to continually see the face of Christ in each and every one. So much to look forward to as the Lord blesses us with this time together. St. Mary’s Parish family praying, working and celebrating makes for a bright future
and exciting days ahead.

Welcome middle school students! My name is Mrs. Werner and I will be the 6th grade homeroom teacher this year. This is my second year at St. Mary’s teaching social studies and language arts. I am excited to welcome several new students to our middle school.

A little bit about myself: I have lived in Janesville for the past 17 years with my family. Some of you may know, I have 4 children ranging in age from 13 – 22 years. They are a very important part of my life and you will probably hear silly stories about them throughout the year. You may even see them come into the classroom this year as helpers. We also added an addition to our family during our quarantine period. We welcomed a Golden Retriever puppy named Cooper. He brings such joy to us each day. Maybe he can come visit you too!

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are ready to start learning new things. We will be working on our reading, writing and communication skills in ELA. In social studies, we will continue our exploration of history and how it connects to our modern day lives.

I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher and a partner in their learning. I look forward to this school year. We are going to accomplish a lot within a few short months and I cannot wait to get started!
